I am always talking all things social media in my business but one thing I haven’t covered yet is how to make your profile stand out on social media with an effective social media bio. If you have just set up social media profiles for your business or you want to refresh your pages, this is for you.
Your social media bio is often one of the first things people see when they land on your social media profiles, getting this part right will engage your readers and encourage them to find out more about you and your business, here are some things to include…
Who You Are
The very first section should include an introduction to create familiarity and trust with your followers and let them know who you are. This could include a little bit about you, your experience, how long you have been in business and maybe your hobbies and interests to ensure your profile remains engaging, passionate and most of all human.
What You Do
This is the part where you let your followers know what your business does and how it can help them solve a problem they have. Include your most popular products or services and key points about your brand and business. Always write this with the end customer in mind to ensure you appeal to them directly.
Your Values as a Business
The next step is to explain what your values are as a business and how these values align with your customers and their needs. Why does your business do what it does? What are some of the values you hold as a business that you pride yourself on? Show your passion and the value of what your business does.
Your Website
Always include your website in your social media bio so your followers and potential customers can follow the link and find out more about you and your products or services if they wish to do so. Your website is a valuable tool in attracting and retaining customers so ut makes sense to display your website link whenever possible.
A Clear Call to Action
Always provide a clear call to action in your bios to encourage your viewers to take an action after reading about you and your business. You could ask them to head over to your website, book a time to talk to you one-to-one or direct them to your products and services to read more about them.
