Getting Started with Social Media for Your Business

Preparation

If you are not already using social media for business it’s time to create some business pages! Avoid setting up personal profiles for your business name as these will eventually get flagged and removed by the platforms. The best way is by utilising the business tools on each platform and creating dedicated pages, this way you can allow your brand to show its best side, interact with your followers and receive reviews. Have a think about what type of platform would best suit your needs, if you sell products and have great images, Instagram would be perfect, if you rely on selling services to other business owners, LinkedIn would suit you more.

Software

I use a range of software in my business to keep everything running smoothly and streamline my processes. For example, using a scheduling software will allow you to create social media posts well in advance of the date you want them to go out meaning you don’t have to be working on social media every day to boost your presence in the digital world. I also use a simple design software in my business which allows you to create images and designs which are on brand and relevant to your sector

Ideas & Strategy

So you are all set up but how do you know what to post? Start by sharing some vital information about you and your business, who are you? What do you do? What can you provide for your customers? How can you help them? Why are you passionate about what you do? Share photographs of your products to gain some traction, share your recent testimonials and awareness days which are relevant to your business.
